Spend a day visiting the gannets at Cape Kidnappers. This can be done by tractor along the beach or overland in unimogs.

There is horse trekking nearby, bike riding and walks.

There is a choice of golf courses within 25 minutes drive.

 

Napier is the main city of Hawke's Bay. The Art Deco heritage created after the devastating 1931 earthquake is fascinating to explore.

Children are easily entertained at attractions including the National Aquarium, Indoor Rock Climbing, Mohaka Rafting. For adults: Art Deco Walks and those wanting a slower pace can soak in Napier’s Ocean Spa hot pools, overlooking the Pacific.

Long empty beaches and rugged ranges offer excellent walking and tramping opportunities.

Organize the children to a scary evening at the Amazing Maze in Maize. or a trip to Splash Planet water park.

Havelock North, the heart of wine country in Hawkes Bay. Nestled in between the Heretaunga Plains and the legendary Te Mata Peak, the village's intimate and small population lends itself to exquisite winery and dining opportunities.

Bring the bikes or hire them and ride the 30 km Rotary Cycle Way from Havelock North to Ahuriri. Visit the Arataki Honey House, taste cheese at the Cheese Factory, Fish the rivers or go for a Skydive.
